Now available for sale is a gorgeous and brand new 6175 Flatcar w/ US Navy Rocket. According to the prior owner, this flatcar was purchased from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. However, there is no paperwork supporting this history, although the external condition is consistent with many items sold from the Michigan location; unrun, minor surface marks and simply in fantastic condition.
This freight car has a factory fresh exterior with vibrant colors, clean side lettering plus an original postwar rocket. The freight car is in perfect condition with nothing nicked, chipped nor damaged plus the trucks, coupler and wheels are free of rust and oxidation and show no signs of ever being on the track. Additionally, the elastic tie-down band is an original postwar band, but has lost its elasticity due to their age. Finally, the belly of the rocket is nice and white while the top is showing some minor discoloration and/or aging. Overall, a gorgeous Space & Military freight car that does not often surface for sale in this condition.
