Up for sale is the extremely rare, red New York Central gondola, canisters and original box from 1966. This one-year-only freight car is believed to have been manufactured for only a single year and is extremely difficult to locate. Additionally, the gondola includes the correct original cannisters as well as its original box -- which is almost as rare as the freight car itself!
This gondola is complete, free of nicks, chips and cracks plus both of the AAR trucks are complete. The exterior colors are vibrant while the side lettering is crisp and complete. Additionally, the canisters are original postwar canister and free of nicks, chips and damage. Overall, a beautiful gondola with original canisters.
Lastly, the original box is clean and solid. Both end flaps are properly labelled 6162-110, however one tuck flap has been replaced with a flap from a 3419 box plus there is clear tape on the end flaps.
