Up for sale is a near-new, barely used # 460 Piggy Back Transportation set from 1955. This accessory has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and operates just as designed by Lionel. The accessory platform surface is vibrant with no usage marks, the base is clean and free of rust, oxidation and usage marks plus the forklift is in near-new condition! Both alignment tabs on the base are still attached and the crank and lever both operate properly. Lastly, this accessory is the early variation with the decal lettering on the side of the forklift.
The freight car and both vans are also in pristine condition with barely any signs of usage. Their colors are gorgeous, the lettering and decals are perfect and there is no rust nor oxidation on any of the components. The only apology is the top of the vans have some very minor or faint aging spots just beginning -- which is very typical of these vans.
Finally, this accessory includes its original box which looks like it was manufactured yesterday! The printed colors are perfect and there are no tears, stains nor apologies on the box. Internally, the accessory included all three original inserts -- which is truly rare as one, or several, are usually missing. Lastly, original instructions are also included -- and match the condition of the box and components.
