Product Overview

 Condition:  7          Original Box:  8          Year:  1951

12 photos available above

Now available for sale is 1951 cattle car, corral and many other original components. As seen in the photos above, there is usage to all components, however the overall condition is nice and clean. Below is a summary of the components:

  • Later production corral with yellow gates and some tarnishing on the top of the cattle walkway
  • Set of nine original cattle -- each the more common variation with the smooth side on the perimeter of the base
  • Correct instructions dated 1951
  • Original component envelope including; 027 and O gauge track contactors, CTC and a complete 364C controller
  • Original cattle car (condition 7++, almost condition 8) without the Armour sticker but having staple-end trucks
  • Solid and complete Middle Classic boxes for both the cattle and cattle car -- which include all internal and external flaps. Condition of these boxes are an 8 to 8+
  • The larger Middle Classic box for the entire accessory has an OPS Pricing Sticker on the side -- which indicates 1951 production sold in 1952. The box is a bit worn but has all interior and exterior flaps, but there is clear tape on the interior of most flaps. Additionally, the original insert is present.

Note: This operating freight car and platform have been thoroughly cleaned and all components are free of rust and oxidation, nothing is broken nor damaged but there are some paint nicks and chips along the top rail of the pen. Individually, the components have been tested and do work, although both the cattle car and ramp need to have the rubber gromments replaced (six replacement gromments are included, but not pictured above). Unfortunately -- as is common with the cattle car and corral -- when placed together they simply do not operate as a setThe eventual buyer can certainly set up this accessory as a nice and clean non-operating display item and it will look great on a layout. Otherwise, you'll need some time and patience to try to get all components operating in unison as a matched set.
