Up for sale is one of the rarest postwar accessories ever manufactured by Lionel. The Cannon Firing Range set was an uncatalogued item manufactured only in 1964 and only included in the # 9820 outfit from Sears, Roebuck, & Company in that same year. The accessory is molded in olive drab plastic and highlighted on the exterior of the set box as a "Shell firing Cannon Set." This accessory is an absolute must have for any collector trying to complete the Sears set.
This particular accessory has been tested and it worked perfectly. Components of the accessory include:
- An original Lionel Cannon Firing Range Set.
- Original Instruction Sheet that measures 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches when fully opened.
- Two (2) original shells and four (4) reproduction shells. The four reproduction shells are a perfect match in length and diameter to the original shells.
- All four cannons lock and fire when the red wheel is turned and there is no damage, cracks nor chips on the accessory.
- It measures approximately 8 inches by 4 inches.
- Lastly, the Cannon Firing Range set has no box or packaging -- it was simply included in the set box.
