Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 3428 from the late 1950's!
This 6428 was purchased directly from Madison Hardware dating back to the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York to Michigan. The box car is truly brand new, unsold inventory from Michigan. Although there is no paperwork supporting this history, the external condition is consistent with many items sold from the Michigan location; unrun, in fantastic condition, but with some minor blemishes on the exterior due to storage and/or moving.
Externally, the colors are stunning, truly gorgeous with perfect side lettering and graphics plus the freight car includes its figure and original mail bag with magnet. Unfortunately, as seen in the photos above, there is some paint loss on the roof in a few locations. The sides, however, are in perfect condition! Additionally, the AAR trucks are complete, functional and the wheels show no signs of every being on the track. Overall, a beautiful freight car that does not often appear for sale in this condition.
