Now available for sale is the hard-to-find Great Northern EP-5 diesel electric locomotive manufactured by Lionel in 1959. This locomotive has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and is ready to run or be displayed. The motor runs nice and smooth, the lights do illuminate, the horn is fuincational and the e-unit cycles flawlessly. This exterior shell has vibrant colors with clean, crisp side lettering and graphics. However, one end decal is a reproduction component (and the opposite end might be a reproduction decal too), plus there are a handful of minor orange paint touch-ups along the bottom and the top simulated condensor. The interior is clean, there is no rust nor oxidation on the locomotive plus the pantographs are original postwar components. Overall, a beautiful operator grade locomotive that looks great and functions perfectly.
