Here's a clean set of Santa Fe F3 AA diesel set from the early 1950's and are decorated with the popular war-bonnet Santa Fe paint scheme frequently seen in the western portion of the United States during the 1950's. The exterior shells are nice and clean, free of damage, nicks and chips but there is some minor red touch up on the shells. Additionally, someone painted the side truck steps and simulated springs red to match the cab -- an interesting concept that actually looks fairly nice. Additionally, the rear metal steps on the non-powered unit are no longer attached to the shell (replacement steps are available from most parts dealers) and the side porthole lens are reproduction components.
Each locomotive has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and operate perfectly. The e-unit cycles correctly, the horn is functional, the interior light works properly and both sets of magne-traction trucks are clean and complete. The exterior colors, decals, stripping and lettering are clean, complete and vibrant and there's certainly no rust nor oxidation on either locomotive. Overall, a great pair of diesels for an operators layout.
