Here's a nice and clean set of the sought after 2343 Santa Fe F3 AA diesels from the early 1950's. These Santa Fe locomotives are decorated with the popular silver, red and yellow war-bonnet Santa Fe paint scheme frequently seen along the western railroad landscape during the 1950's and 1960's. The exterior shells are clean, the yellow and red decorations are crisp plus the side lettering, graphics and decals are all in nice condition. Overall condition of this set is as follows:
- Power unit: Graded at a solid 7. The exterior shell is clean, the yellow and red decorations are crisp plus the side lettering, graphics and decals are all in nice condition. Additionally, the interior of power unit is as clean as the exterior plus there is rust nor oxidation on the diesel. Lastly, the side porthole lens appears to be reproduction components. The only issue preventing this diesel from being graded higher than a 7 is some slight handling wear along the top edge and some minor surface marks on the rear of the roof. Otherwise, it's a nice and clean unit.
- Trailer unit: Graded at a solid 7+. Like the power unit, the exterior shell is clean, the yellow and red decorations are crisp plus the side lettering, graphics and decals are all in nice condition. Additionally, the interior of the trailer unit is as clean as the exterior plus there is rust nor oxidation on the diesel. Lastly, the side porthole lens appears to be reproduction components. Otherwise, it's a nice and clean unit.
Lastly, both diesels have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and operate perfectly. The e-unit cycles correctly, the horn is functional, the interior lights work properly and both sets of magne-traction trucks are clean and complete. If you looking for a nice and clean set of Santa Fe diesels to operate on a layout or display within your collection, this pair of Santa Fe's can easily accomplish both of these tasks for you.
