Now available for sale is a pair of first generation of Santa Fe F3 diesels from the late 1940's. These Santa Fe F3 AA locomotives are decorated with the popular war-bonnet Santa Fe paint scheme and have been a staple in the Lionel catalogue for the past 70+ years!
This particular set of diesels have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and all functionality operates just as designed by Lionel 70 years ago. Both motors operate smoothly and flawlessly, the e-unit cycles properly, all interior light do illuminate, the couplers work properly plus the horn is functional.
The exterior shells are in decent condition with vibrant colors and no damage to either shell but as seen in the photos above, there are small surface marks on the exterior from usage. The number boards appear to be original components however the side porthole lens are reproduction items. Additionally, the red GM decal in the same location on each side. Internally, the diesels are just as clean as the exterior and there is no rust nor oxidation on the frame, motor nor trucks. If your layout can use a nice operator grade set of Santa Fe diesels, this might be the perfect set for you.
