Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 225 Chesapeake & Ohio Alco A diesel from 1960!
Up for sale is brand new, never used Lionel Alco diesel that was purchased from a collection where a significant number of items were obtained from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. For this particular diesel, there is no documentation indicating it came from Madison Hardware, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; the item is unrun, having a couple of very minor surface marks from storage and/or moving and simply looking factory fresh!
This particular one-year-only diesel has pristine external colors with bright, crisp and complete side lettering and graphics. There is one tiny nick are the top rear of the shell and a light surface mark on the front (very typical of Madison Hardware inventory) but no other nicks, chips nor damage to the shell. Lastly, the frame and all metal components are clean and fresh-looking, there is no rust nor oxidation plus the diesel has been tested and does operate properly. Finally, the front apron is complete and not cracked nor repaired and all wheels show no signs of ever being on the track.
