Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 213 Minneapolis & St. Louis Alco AA diesel set from 1964!
This one-year-only Minneapolis & St. Louis Alco AA diesel set was manufactured by Lionel in 1964 and is extremely difficult to locate these days in collector condition. According to the prior owner, this diesel was purchased from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. However, there is no paperwork supporting this history, although the external condition is consistent with many items sold from the Michigan location; unrun, and in fantastic condition.
These particular diesels have a factory fresh, absolutely new red exterior with crisp and vibrant white lettering and graphics. As seen in the photos above, the diesels look stunning and are free of exterior nicks, chips and damage. There is tiny and barely noticeable 3/8" surface mark on one side (view the 5th photo above, top unit, by the letter S in Minneapolis, lower right of cab). Otherwise, the frame, motor, e-unit, light are all in new condition and free of rust and oxidation plus the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. Lastly, the power unit has been bench teted and the motor, light and e-unit all operate properly. Overall, a gorgeous locomotive that does not often surface for sale in this condition.
