Now available for sale is a beautiful set of Santa Fe AA Alco diesels that were manufactured in 1958 and 1959. These diesels -- which are difficult to locate in collector condition -- have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and are ready to run on your layout or proudly displayed in a display case. The exterior colors are clean and vibrant while the side lettering is complete. The front decals -- which are highly prone to cracking and deterioration -- are showing minimal signs of aging and cracking. The frames, trucks and wheels are free of rust and oxidation and all functionality operates as designed by Lionel including the motor, headlight, 3-position e-unit, horn and magnetraction. Lastly, there are no nicks, chips nor blemishes on either unit and the front aprons are complete and not cracked.
Also included with the Alco diesels are gorgeous original boxes for each unit. Both boxes are solid, have clean and crisp printing and look fantastic. The power unit box is missing about 25% of one end flap, otherwise all other flaps are present on both boxes.
