Now available for sale is a pair of the somewhat famous Lionel Lines Alco diesels repainted by Len Carparelli of L & L Train Restoration. These diesels were originally 2023 Union Pacific diesels, but have been repainted in green, lettered for Lionel Lines and are a perfect match the popular 2400 green streamlined passenger cars manufactured by Lionel in 1948 and 1949.
The exterior colors are vibrant, the side lettering is crisp and clean plus the front decals are in great condition. There are a couple of small and minor paint flakes on the exterior, but overall would be graded a 7++. Internally, the units are clean and have been thoroughly serviced, tested and run perfectly. The e-unit cycles properly, the couples work, the horn is function and both lights do illuminate. Lastly, there is no rust nor oxidation on the frames, trucks nor couplers. Overall, a really nice set of restored Lionel Alcos -- that would look great in front of a set of 2400 streamlined passenger cars.
