Here's the first variation of the 027 gauge version of the popular Lionel turbine from 1947. Both the turbine and tender has gorgeous exterior colors plus the side numbers and lettering are crisp, clean and complete. The tender's shell is original and includes the correct silver letters from 1947. Additionally, this turbine has the harder-to-find maroon brush plate cover, generally believed to be the earlier production run for this turbine. Lastly, both the turbine and whistling tender have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested plus there is no rust nor oxidation on either item and all functionality operates properly such as the headlight, e-unit, smoke unit and whistle. The only imperfection on the turbine is the rear steps have been neatly and professionally screwed to the frame, versus press-fitted.
