Now available for sale is an uncatalogued New Old Stock # 1885 Western & Atlantic Coach passenger car from 1960!
This hard-to-find General-style passenger car is a brand new, unsold item which was reportedly purchased from Madison Hardware dating back to the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. Unfortunately, there is no paperwork supporting this history, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; unrun, but having light or minor surface marks from storage and moving.
This classic Civil War style passenger was only available in a single uncatalogued set in 1960 and is rather difficult to locate these days. Externally, the car has vibrant exterior colors as well as pristine side lettering, although there are some minor surface and paint rub marks from handling and storage throughout the years. Additionally, the end railings and steps are complete, not damaged nor repaired and both trucks and couplers are complete. Finally, the trucks, couplers and truss supports are clean and free of rust and oxidation and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. Overall, a gorgeous passenger car that is difficult to find for separate sale.
