Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 1866 Western & Atlantic Mail Baggage from the late 1950's or early 1960's!
This General-style passenger car is reportedly a brand new, unsold item which was purchased from Madison Hardware dating back to the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. Unfortunately, there is no paperwork supporting this history, however the external condition is similar to many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; unrun, but having light or minor surface marks from storage and moving.
This classic Civil War style passenger car has vibrant exterior colors as well as pristine side lettering and graphics and perfect side decals although there are a couple of very minor surface marks from handling over the years. Additionally, the end railings and steps are complete, not damaged nor repaired and both trucks and couplers are complete Finally, the trucks, couplers and truss supports are clean and free of rust and oxidation and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. Overall, a gorgeous passenger car that is usually found in well used condition.
