Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 167 Whistle Controller from 1953!
This whistle controller is in gorgeous condition and includes all original components as originally sold by Lionel. According to the prior owner, this whistle controller was purchased from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. However, there is no paperwork supporting this history, although the external condition is consistent with many items sold from the Michigan location; never used and simply in fantastic condition.
This Whistle Controller has a factory fresh exterior with a pristine bakelite cover. The exterior case is complete and not nicked, chipped nor damaged plus the controller has been tested and both buttons operate as designed by Lionel. In addition to the controller, the following components are included:
- Clean, solid and complete Middle Classic box and insert with all interior and exterior flaps. The box is free of tape, tears and stains plus it is nice and square.
- Original instructions dated 1953.
- Original factory inspection tag.
- Two original postwar coiled wires.
