Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 1615 Steam Switcher Locomotive with the correct 1615T tender from 1955! This locomotive set was purchased from a gentleman who reportedly purchased the set from Madison Hardware in the 1980's. Unfortunately, there is no receipt nor paperwork to collaborate this historical information.

In any case, both the steamer and tender are absolutely brand new, never used and never run on the rails! The wheels are unused and in Mint condition, the exterior colors are vibrant plus the side lettering is absolutely gorgeous and a pure white. The general appearance of the set is unblemished and free of any marks, nicks and signs of handling.

Also included in this set are original boxes and paperwork, including the following:

  • Master Carton: square, includes all flaps, no tape and free of writing, tears and staining, plus the side tape seam is missing. The master carton is a bit soft from aging and has slight exterior discoloration from storage -- both common signs from many Madison Hardware items.
  • 1615X Steam Locomotive box: square, complete and has all interior and exterior flaps. Like the master carton, this box too is a bit soft from aging and the side tape seam has become unglued -- but is present. Like many items earmarked for separate sale, the locomotive box has the "X" printed by each end flap number.
  • 1615T Tender box: solid, square and complete with all interior and exterior flaps. The exterior colors are vibrant and the only blemish is one tuck flap and one interior flap is partly torn by the fold line. Otherwise, the box is free of writing, staining and tape.
  • Additional Items: Lastly, this set includes original instructions, two inspection tags (with the proper white background from 1955), wrapping paper for the locomotive and a full tube of lubricant.

Note: this locomotive has been tested, but does not run. This is simply due to having never been run over the prior 65+ years and the internal motor still has the original grease -- which has solidified at this point in time. The eventual buyer can keep the locomotive in this brand new, unused state -- or if preferred, can have it fully serviced by All Aboard Train Shoppe prior to shipping.

Without question, this can easily be the centerpiece of anyone's collection!
