Up for sale is a New Old Stock # 14004 Coal Loader -- which is a remake of the postwar # 397 Coal Loader.

This accessory is a brand new and never used over the prior 25+ years. The coal loader is still factory sealed within it's original packaging and shows no signs of ever being removed from the box nor installed on a layout. The accessory includes all original components and is just like it was manufactured in 2000. Lastly, the accessory has not been bench tested (due to the original, sealed packaging), but should work absolutely fine. Lastly, the original box and insert are complete, solid and in new condition too.

Here's is a slightly more detailed description copied directly from the Lionel website:

Flip a switch and watch the coal fly! With the 397 Operating Coal Loader, you can fill hopper after hopper with Lionel coal. Simply load coal into the 397 by either dumping it in from a coal dump car, emptying a bag of coal into the receiving tray, or in conjunction with the 456R Operating Coal Ramp (shown together on this page), dump the coal from an elevated 3456 Operating Hopper separately). The vibration of the running motor causes the coal to move to the back of the loader where a conveyor waits to send it up and over into the car below. You won't grow tired of watching and playing with this fun accessory.
