Up for sale is a somewhat difficult variation of the 6462 to locate. This early production 1949 model has the correct staple-end trucks, 1949 style base plate and couplers, metal footsteps on each corner, dual brakewheels plus original wooden barrels. But best of all, the freight car also includes a very difficult box to locate -- the Early Classic, Three Cities box. The gondola is nice and clean with vibrant exterior colors and clean, crisp side lettering and graphics. Additionally, there are no nicks, chips nor blemishes on the freight car plus the frame and trucks are clean and free of rust and oxidation.
The original Early Classic, Three Cities box is solid, has both end and tuck flaps plus all four interior flaps. The only flap missing is the coupler flap on each end.
