Up for sale is an unrun, truly Mint, New Old Stock New York Central box car from the early to mid 1960's.
This gorgeous, never-used New York Central box car is from the 1963 / 1964 era. The external colors are vibrant with super crisp and complete side lettering and graphics. All metal parts match perfectly without a hint of rust and the wheels still have the fuzzy appearance of never being run from the factory. The AAR trucks are the open journal variation --which were originally produced in 1963 -- plus both operating couplers work perfectly.
The original Orange Picture box is nice and clean, looks great but has some minor separation and wear where the end flap is attached to the box. Otherwise all internal and external flaps are present on the box. Externally, the colors are clean and the box is nice and solid.
