Now available for sale is a clean, all-original Santa Fe operating box car from the early 1950's. This box car has the staple-end trucks, no corner footsteps plus die-cast sliding doors -- which dates it to the 1950 / 1951 timeframe. The exterior colors are clean, the side lettering and graphics are crisp plus the mechanism operates just as designed by Lionel. Lastly, the trucks and couplers are clean and free of rust and oxidation but there are a couple of small oxidation spots by the door guide rivets.
Also included with this freight car is its original Middle Classic box and instructions. The instructions are nice and clean and dated 1950. The box is solid and complete with all interior and exterior flaps -- including both coupler flaps -- plus there is clear tape on the interior of only one flap!
