Condition: 9+ Original Box: 10 Year: 1953
Now available is a near-new, barely used Western Pacific Fe F-3 AA diesels. This diesel set is generally considered one of the most coveted postwar F-3 locomotive sets and is nearly impossible to locate in high collector condition. For this specific locomotive, it looks like it was produced yesterday! The diesels simply look stunning with perfect exterior colors and lettering.
These locomotives have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and work perfectly. The motors run strong and smooth, the e-unit cycles properly and both headlights and number boards are properly illuminated. Even the horn has been tested and works properly. There are no exterior chips, nicks nor blemishes on either body. Additionally, both shells have been reviewed under black light and nothing has been repainted nor restored, they have original paint and decals! Finally, the exterior silver is clean and bright and the side lettering, stripes and graphics are complete and in new condition. The interior and exterior frames are clean, free of rust and oxidation and just as nice as the exterior. These locomotive are easily graded a 9 to 9+! The only minor item noteworthy of mentioning is the rivet to secure the battery cover to the frame appears to have probably been replaced at some point in the past as there are a couple of minor surface marks by the rivet (a close-up of this area is shown in the photos).
Regarding the original individual boxes, inserts and master carton, all compliment the diesels and are in near-new condition. There is no writing, stains, tears nor blemishes on any of the items. Even the original wrapping paper is complete and in near-perfect condition! In addition to the gorgeous boxes, the original instructions, inspection tags and Service Station booklet are included.
This Western Pacific diesel set can easily be the centerpiece of your display case. With a prototypical paint scheme, dual motors with magnetraction and stunning boxes, it will be near impossible to find a nicer Western Pacific diesel set.
