Up for sale is the third of four Virginian Trainmaster sets offered by Lionel during the postwar era. This specific top-of-the-line set from 1957 is in fantastic condition and shows very little play wear. The outfit contains all of the correct paperwork and individual Late Classic boxes for a 1957 set.
The condition of the each item in the set is between an 8 and 8+ -- with the only exception being the operating milk car is graded at a 7++. All of the components have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and work perfectly. The best part of this set is the Virginian Trainmaster has no screwhole cracks on either end! Additionally, all of the exterior colors, lettering and graphics are in great condition and there is no rust nor oxidation on any of the components.
As for the boxes, all are in great condition and include all interior and exterior flaps and the insert is included for the 2331 trainmaster locomotive and operating milk car. Even the set box is in nice condition and includes all box flaps.
Lastly, the set does include many other original items such as instructions (all properly dated 1957) for the locomotive, remote control track and operating milk car. Also included are seven original postwar straight sections of track -- but for some reason, all of the curve track is missing. Finally, the UCS track is complete, rewired and fully operational.
